Mining accounts for approximately 10% of Namibia’s annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Key commodities include diamonds, uranium, zinc, gold and more recently, critical metals. The NIPDB recognises the role of critical minerals such as copper, lithium, nickel, cobalt and rare earth elements in fueling the global energy transition.
