Strategic location as a gateway to Africa and beyond

Namibia is strategically located in the south-western point of Africa. With two world-class ports at Walvis Bay and Lüderitz, Namibia is well positioned to serve as the gateway to her neighbouring countries including South Africa, Angola, Zambia and beyond. Namibia’s integrated transportation system of well-maintained tarred roads and rail networks and preferred trade routes provide investors with easy, quick and cost-effective access to the markets of Southern Africa, West Africa and the world at large, thereby providing for favourable conditions for long-term investments and access to larger markets.

A new and collaborative approach to doing business

Namibia is on a strong drive to evolve from extractive investments towards value adding activities and new ventures. As a country, we have introduced a new diversification strategy. Going forward, our priority sectors for diversification include, renewable energy, the food industry, chemicals and basic materials, transport and logistics, digital and global business services, metals, mining and adjacent industries, as well as machinery and electronics.

This vision and ambition enjoys the highest-level of political support with His Excellency, President Hage G. Geingob, reiterating his commitment to ensuring that Namibia becomes the investment destination of choice in Africa.
